3.5 million bullets (2013-2014)

This extraordinary but short-lived spectacle – a cacophony of sound and explosions – is created by gunmen during the night shoot at the biggest machine gun shoot in the United States. As spectacular as the event is the amount of energy and money invested in it: Since private citizens are not allowed to own fully automated weapons, all the guns used at this shoot are collectibles, costing around the $40,000- $50,000. A single bullet costs around $7 and an average of 3.5 million bullets are fired over a week-end. The land is privately owned and as such the usual gun regulations don’t apply.
